I yawned and stretched as hard as I could. This lack of sleep was really starting to catch up to me, and it seemed that fate was going to make me pay for it today.
“Come on now, no need for that.” I clapped my hands on my cheeks, vainly trying to stay awake.
I journeyed toward the closest fast food joint, my stomach writhing in visible agony. I hugged it and moaned inwardly as the hunger pangs started to pound away at my insides, almost making me retch.
As I entered the restaurant and found my place in line, my gaze started to wander everywhere. I could see many different people, all sitting down eating their meals. Aww...
Suddenly, I saw him. He was six feet in height, maybe more. Blue... no wait, was it black clothing? He seemed to have black hair as well, I couldn’t tell. He was looking straight at me; his piercing, frozen gaze loitered around the back of my eyes, trying to break down the wall to my innermost thoughts. I couldn’t look away. I couldn’t...
“Hey...” I said as I reached out my hand and moved forward. Just then, he darted into the toilets nearby. I managed to half-heartedly give chase, but I knew not to enter the women’s toilets, lest I be beaten to death.
The moment after I entered the toilets, I heard the muffled slam of a door. It didn’t sound very fragile. It must be some new type of door.
Anyway, I stood in front of a rather clean and almost sterile stall. This was where the sound came from, I knew it. My head was burning, my stomach was hollow. I couldn’t wait any longer.
I carefully raised one knee, lifting up the toe slightly to make sure I wouldn’t crush it on the door. Summoning up all of my strength and nervous energy, I let out a loud grunt of exertion as I kicked down the door with all of the force of a stampede of elephants, breaking it off the hinges.
There was nothing there.
“Did he run outside?” I said to myself. I then exited the toilets just as quickly as I had entered them.
I dashed out of the restaurant at blinding speed, dodging customers along the way. My hunger and curiosity would have to be sated later, sadly.
Suddenly, I burst out onto the pavement, into the cloudy grey blanket of the afternoon.
I looked left. I looked right.
“Nowhere...” I sighed.
Moving over to a very comfy looking bench, I collapsed onto it, totally exhausted and hungry. I think I’ve got a headache coming on. I might need some pills.

It amazes me how quickly time flies by. My stomach still whinged like a little child who had missed out on dinner. “Shut up,” I said to it.
So with nothing else to do, I waited.
My mind began to wander slightly. It hurt my head quite a bit though. Oh god this pounding headache...
WEE-OW, WEE-OW, WEE-OW!
The police car darted in between traffic and zoomed through the intersections, then finally screeched to a halt right in front of the fast food joint. A very muscular man hopped out of the car, sweat still dripping off of his shoulders and permeating his well-used top. He looked like he had exercised recently.
He looked pretty tough though, wearing a plain white t-shirt and a pair of sky-blue fitted jeans. He also wore a pair of beaten up Adidas sneakers. To complete his fit look, he wore red and yellow-trimmed sparring gloves and a damp blue headband. He made his way over to where I was sitting.
“So you’re the disturbance,” he said to me.
“Disturbance? Whaddya mean?”
“Well you were the one who caused the commotion here, weren’t you?”
“Hey hey hey, I was only reacting to some shady guy I saw in there,” I finally spoke out. He seemed quite taken aback by this piece of news, but he didn’t really let it show.
“Well... can you give me a description of this ‘man’ you saw?”
So I described to him the mysterious, almost evil figure in the restaurant. I wasn’t able to say very much though, because I didn’t catch a good enough look at him. He seemed satisfied though, and went off to compile the description.
When he came back to me a while later, his face had turned a horrific pallor. It didn’t seem to be good.
“He’s... it’s him...” he sounded like he had just seen his own death.
I was about to ask him why he looked like that. I stopped myself before I said anything though.
Just then, I heard the barely audible sound of bone against wood.
CRUNCH!
“Oh my god, that didn’t sound good,” I blurted out. I turned to the police officer, who was still pale in the face. “Aren’t you going to do anything?”
He remained silent.
‘Geez, is he really that scared?’ I pondered.
He then shot up and spin on his heel. His face then turned into one of grim determination.
“Hah! I had a feeling you’d be here Axel...” I heard someone say. I hesitantly turned towards the voice. I totally regretted that choice though. Totally, totally regretted it.
It was the man I had chased earlier, in full view. He had long, shiny black hair, kept away from his face by a red headband. Along with that, he wore a black martial arts uniform, along with a red karate belt. He seemed very strong as well, his arms being the thickest part of his body.
“Shiva...” Axel said. Shiva? Hmm, weird name.
Without a reply, Shiva then took up his own fighting position. With the two of them facing off like this, the atmosphere was almost electric. However, I also felt that I had stumbled upon something... big.
Shiva was a big problem. The organisation he worked for though... was a bigger problem.
