Scene One
Rana: "Where’s my flower?"
Lea: "I threw them out!"
Rana: "What?...you cow!"
Lea: "You mind your tongue miss..."
Donna: "Yeah Rana zip it!"
Rana: "Oh shut your green trap Donna...know it all!"
Donna: "Calm down Rana...don't get your bandana in a twist...here pizza..."
Rana: "Typical you always side with her Donna...oldest smoldesh it’s just a facade!"
Mila: "Will you three just chill and eat..."
Donna: Oooh ooh my favorite programs on The Secret Life of an Inventor..."
Rana: "You and your contraptions Donna...waste of time!"
Donna: "That girls got serious problem..."
Lea: "I hear that!"
Mila: "Rana wait!"
Lea: "Mila just leave her..."
Mila: "Daddy would’ve been so disappointed in you two..."
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
Rana: "Go away, I’m asleep!"
Mila: "But you heard me knock..."
Rana: "Just beat it ok!"
Mila: "The only thing I beat is eggs, now open this door or I'll kick it!"
Rana: "Okay okay okay keep your shell on, shisssh..."
Mila: "Now what's going on baby girl?"
Rana: "Lea threw my flowers out, they were special, a gift from Clarke"
Mila: "Clarke Kent? the news reporter from the Daily Planet? You mean you went up into the Pavement world?"
Rana: "Yeah...”
Mila: "Dad said we had to stay in the sewers to protect ourselves, Rana you shouldn’t, humans can’t be trusted, and they’ll put us in a freak show!"
Rana: "Mila it was wonderful, my skin, my skin, I became human in the Pavement world..."
Mila: "Human?"
Rana: "Yes Mila and a beautiful one at that..."
Mila: "Does he know you’re a mutant"
Rana: "No..."
Mila:"Be careful..."
Rana: "Mila Clarke is different, he will do no such thing, trust me and promise you won't tell Lea and Donna..."
Mila: "Ummm..."
Rana: "Promise me..."
Mila: "I promise..."
Rana: "Fathers very wish was for us to be happy…Mila Clarke makes me feel whole…why don’t you come to the Pavement world with me?"
Mila: "Oh no no no…I’m happy being green…anyway the sunlight would only ruin my complexion ha ha…"
Rana: "Oh Mila you always know how to make me laugh…you’re the best!"
Mila: "Forgive Lea and Donna baby girl…they love you…you know that right?"
Rana: "Yeah…ok…I will"
Mila: "Come on let’s eat until we're bloated…and watch Dr Phil re-runs ha ha…"
They laugh and walk to the kitchen; the scene closes and leads into scene two, there is a voice over by Rana, she is writing the letter to her sisters, the scene shows her sitting at a desk writing, the voiceover says:
"To my dear sisters Lea, Donna and Mila. As you all know I have struggled for some time to live here since Dad’s passing, I’ve caused too many arguments and divided our family, the throwing away of the flowers was the last straw. I know I'm the youngest, but I’m not a baby, I’m a grown turtle, I have found love and yes he is a human. I want to live this life on my own accord, make my own decisions. My absence will be for good. I will visit. I will make my life in the pavement world, making good use of the enchantment we posses. I love you my sisters. Sincerely Yours, Rana..."
Scene Two
Donna finds the letter runs out of Rana's room to the kitchen to tell her sisters.
Donna: "Girls, girls, girls wake up! Rana’s left! I found this on her dresser, she’s left her weaponry…"
Mila: She sobs "what have I done?..."
Lea: "Oh pull yourself together woman!..." she snatches the letter off Mila. I promise Daddy that I'd look after you girls and this is the thanks I get! When I get my hands on that girl she'll be grounded for a week without pizza! Mila, Donna all hands in on the count of 3...1, 2, 3" they cheer in unison "Turtle power! Right girls lets go bring back our baby sis!"
Scene Three
Set in a sewage tunnel, Rana encounters her Father's senile elderly friends, Master Shefu and Uncle Louis.
Rana: "Hello Master Shefu and Louis…how are you both?"
Master Shefu: "Very well my dear..."
Uncle Louis: "Excellent Miss Rana...where are your sisters?...you four are attached at the hip, never thought I’d see you out alone..."
Rana: "Yeah things have changed its been hard for me since Daddy died..."
Master Shefu: "I see…"
Rana: "Our condition kept us in the orphanage without a family to love us, until he came..."
Master Shefu: "What condition my dear?..."
Rana: "In the light we transform into humans but by night we are turtles…"
Louis: "Well Miss Rana either way you are a sweetheart to me…"
Rana: "Aww thanks Uncle Louis…but I really want to be human, life would be much easier…I would have a whole lot more fun! My dream is to travel distant worlds and talk to humans without being screamed at or without making little babies cry... because of this green countenance of mine...Uncle Louis, Master Shefu...are you two snoring?!She frowns and is annoyed that they weren't listening.
Master Shefu: "Sorry dear…we enjoyed your bedtime story so much we couldn’t resist a few winks..."
Uncle Louis: "Say hello to your sisters Miss Rana…"
Rana: She whispers to herself "they didn’t even hear a word I said" she replies "ok then, I will…" annoyed she whispers to herself "typical old people!"
Scene Four
Rana finds a ladder that leads to a pothole to the Pavement world. From 7am to sundown her human state manifests. She has an accident and is left unconscious; she wakes into a dream world. In last segment she encounters her Grandmother in an abstract world.
Rana: She talks to herself "U huh!...here’s an opening…ok Rana pull yourself together…its almost daylight…10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…yay its 7am time to climb this ladder…just ten steps away from freedom…1, 2, 3, 4 ooh it’s a bit slippery 5, 6, 7 shoot is there oil on these steps or something?8 almossssst theeereee 9, 10 woo hoo…just need to open this thingy majiggy and Immm whoaaaa...whoaaaa...whoaaaa…Daddddddyyy DONK!..."
Daddy Po: "Rana honey wake up…."
Rana: "Daddy? But but…Daddy you’re not a Panda…"
Daddy Po: "My baby always full of stories…
Rana: “Where are my sisters?"
Daddy: "Having breakfast…you better hurry…Donna might eat all the pancakes…Lea don’t forget to feed Optimus and Megatron…"
Rana: "Who are they?..."
Mila: "They’re our pets you silly billy…"
Rana: "But...but they’re turtles…"
Lea: "Of course they are…you’re the one that chose them…"
Rana: "Pinch me…ouch…pinch me again OUUCHH…you must work out! Dang that hurt!..."
Lea: "He he he, when did you start being funny?..."
Rana: "Am I real?..."
Lea: "Are you alright baby sis?..."
Rana: "Who am I? I have skin..."
Daddy Po: "Girls School bus is here…"
Rana: "Who are those guys in the back?..."
Lea: "Oh don’t worry about them…they’re just a bunch of stomping hoodlums…do nothing but cause trouble and ditch class…"
Rana: "Who are they?..."
Lea: "The Decepticonz…"
Rana: She says sarcastically "And I suppose their rivals are the Autobots…"
Donna: "Really? How did you know that?..."
Rana: "They’re the characters from the Transformers…"
Mila: "Baby sis you have a wild imagination…"
Donna: "That’s for real...here let me pinch you again to wake you up!” she chuckles loudly.
Lea: She feels Rana’s forehead “baby girl you’re burning up!...”
Rana: “I am?...”
Lea: “Come on...Nurse Rogue will know what to do…Hi Mrs Rogue, my sister’s been acting strange…I’m worried for her…”
Mrs Rogue: “Ok Lea…thank you…off to class you go now…Now Miss Rana…I’m glad to see you…I have something special to give to you…”
Rana: “Yes Miss?…”
Voiceover: “They glistened from wall to wall, illuminated the pale walls and utensils…a crimson red…they were the most fascinating slippers I had ever seen, it was at that moment that I was grateful for my human feet”
Mrs Rogue: “They’re from your Father…”
Narrator: “The dimension disappeared and Mrs Rogue with it, Granma Po appeared out of the nothingness”
Rana: “Grandma?” with overwhelming surprise and longing she responds “Oh Grandma how I’ve missed you…” they embrace each other “Grandma where are we?...”
Grandma Po: “My dear child we are in you heart...”
Rana: “But it’s so…so…empty…”
Grandma Po: “Your Father made these for you in the 12th world…in heaven…rubies in this world are the most valuable treasures…these ruby slippers are for you to take back to the Pavement world…to live your life…true loves kiss will keep you transformed into the human likeness…strengthening your sense of belonging in both worlds…most of all the love of family…your Father is so proud of you my dear…Love, forgiveness and pursuing your dreams establishes unity. So now my dear to return to your world simply tap your heels three times saying…there’s no place like home, home is where the heart is…”
Rana: “There's no place like home, home is where the heart is… There's no place like home, home is where the heart is…There's no place like home, home is where the heart is…”
The scene closes with Rana resting in her bed, all her love ones surround her, and her sisters are embracing her. Clarke, Master Shefu and Uncle Louis are present.

This was written without taking pen of paper, it was free flow. I'm aware it requires a lot of editing. And will probably be in agreement with most comments and critiques made. Everyone's creative process is different!So fire away!=)

Cheers...its the first time Ive written a fanfic; receiving critical analysis on my work by others challenges my psyche. Thank you for the positive comment aswell. Ive ammended this piece and will post soon.

ReplyDeleteI found it hard to read just because of the script like manner in which you wrote it, but that is just cause I'm not used to reading things like that :)
